Today in Color Photography one of my classmates quoted someone by saying that the best camera is the one you have with you. For a long time the only camera I had was a really low resolution point and shoot (Both of the above photos were taken with said camera when I was about 17). But I used it like crazy because that was all I had. More limitations just means more opportunities to be creative.
Maybe a few years down the road indie kids will be raving about crappy digital cameras intead of Holgas and Polaroids.
word! i didn't get my first DSLR until i was in college. images taken with my point and shoot got me into art school! i took that thing everywhere. (they are SO much easier to carry around). i still have it but i haven't used it since fall 07. poor lil' guy. so neglected. i mostly keep it for sentimental value. haha!
ReplyDeleteanyways, i firmly believe... no, i KNOW that it's the photographer that makes the image, not the camera. though, once you've got the image-making skills down, only then should you start worrying about how nice your camera and lenses are. (if you're going to worry at all, that is).
